Athletic Trainer Licensure
The West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy has been appointed to provide licensure for all Athletic Trainers working within the state of West Virginia. Beginning July 1, 2020, all Athletic Trainers are required to obtain licensure in order to practice within the state.
Initial Licensing Fee Waiver
Effective June 6, 2019, a new law requires the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and other licensing authorities to waive all initial licensing fee for low-income individuals and military families. This waiver only applies to the PT/PTA/AT license fees, application fee, and exam processing fee, per Title 16 Legislative Rule Series 4. This waiver does not apply to those seeking a temporary permit from the Board or to any other fees.
